Description

The Manual Low Torque Tool (API 17H TYPE A, B & C) is designed to allow ROV manipulator operation of API 17H type A or B low torque rotary valve interfaces. The tool features an adjustable torque limiting clutch mechanism, which acts to limit the maximum torque that can be transmitted from the ROV manipulator to the valve stem during an ROV intervention operation, mitigating against the possibility of potentially over-torqueing and damaging a valve.

The Tool’s socket is designed so that it is capable of interfacing onto either a type A (flat paddle) or a type B (T-bar) valve handles. This allows the option for operations to be conducted on different valve types without the requirement for retrieval to surface for reconfiguration.
